President Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter’s convictions for tax fraud and gun possession last night.
He has landed in Cape Verde today for a short stay before taking a flight to Angola for three days. Later this afternoon, we anticipate his arrival.
Biden is traveling to Angola, but why?
As his administration comes to a conclusion, the US president is fulfilling a long-standing promise to travel to sub-Saharan Africa while in office.
He will meet with Joao Lourenco, the president of Angola, to talk about infrastructure, economic prospects, and more general investments in Africa and Angola.
Additionally, he is there for the Lobito Corridor, a heavily invested train and infrastructure project in the United States that aims to convey vital critical minerals used for electric vehicles and AI data centers quicker, along with drastically speeding up food shipment times and helping to alleviate food insecurity in Africa
